Setup
- After you register, you use the Set Sites page to key a list of sites you wish to monitor. You need to key the full URL as it would appear in your browser's address bar, complete with http:// or https://. Once the site is added to this list the pinger will start to monitor its uptime.
- After that you can use the Check Sites page to monitor and administer your sites. It will take a few minutes before your sites start to get accessed by PingAlive and you get your first readings.

Detailed Response Times
- This page allows you to set the target response time and sensitivity. It also allows you to turn on Email alerts and to specify the address they are sent to.
- A pie chart illustrates the percentage up time and downtime as well as timeouts. You can set a start date for these calculations here also.
- The middle area shows individual response times as well as each error and timeout. You can see up to 24 hours ago in blocks of 6 hours.
- At the very bottom, the last 20 error descriptions are shown to give you an idea of why any downtime occurred.

Long Term Analysis
- This page shows 3 weeks up until now. It allows you to compare response times from a day this week to the same day last week or 2 weeks ago. This can be useful to indicate that poor performance occurs at certain points in the week.
- Each of the 3 graph areas show min, max and average response times. The area below each graph shows the % of responses that were errors, timeouts, between 5 and 30 seconds and between 1 and 5 seconds.
- From this page you can get a good overall perspective of your sites performance and check if any ongoing problems have been rectified.
